By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday low 984 mb located southeast of the
Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over Labrador Sea.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over Belle Isle Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 944 mb located southeast
of Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today high located southwest of the Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. NST today departing high located southeast of the
Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:56 PM NST 23 February 2018 An intense low pressure system will remain nearly stationary just off
the southeastern coast of Greenland through the forecast period.
Meanwhile, a strong and slow moving area of high pressure south of
Cape Breton Island will pass south of the Grand Banks on Saturday
morning. Strong to gale force northwesterlies over most waters
between these features will gradually weaken tonight as the high
approaches.

A trough of low pressure approaching from the west in the wake of the
high will intensify as it crosses the Grand Banks on Saturday
evening. Gale force southwesterly winds will redevelop over the
Southern Grand Banks on Saturday afternoon as the system approaches,
then shift to gale force northwesterlies on Saturday evening in its
wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southwestern Grand Banks.
