By 3:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday low 993 mb located south of Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT today trough located over the Avalon Peninsula.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT today dissipating trough located over the
Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. NDT today approaching ridge located over the
Maritimes.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:48 AM NDT 24 September 2018 An intense low pressure system over the East Labrador Sea will weaken
as it slowly tracks eastwards today. Meanwhile, a trough of low
pressure over the Avalon Peninsula will continue southeastward and
dissipate over the Grand Banks later this morning.

Strong to gale force west to southwesterly winds ahead of the trough
shift to strong to gale force northwesterlies behind it. Strong to
gale force northwesterlies will persist over northern waters after
the trough dissipates due to the low to the northeast of the
district.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle and Belle Isle Bank.
