Issued 10:00 AM NST 19 January 2019 Today Tonight and Sunday At 10:00 a.m. NST today intensifying low 999 mb located over
southeastern Labrador.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Sunday low 976 mb located southeast of Labrador
Sea.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough from 999 mb low located over
Newfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing trough located east of the
Marine District.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over Quebec.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located over Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:50 AM NST 19 January 2019 An intensifying low pressure system over Southeastern Labrador will
move to lie over the Labrador Sea overnight then south of Greenland
on Sunday. A trough extending southeastward from the low will cross
Newfoundland today then east of the marine district this evening.
Strong to gale force southerlies ahead of the low and trough will
veer to strong to gale force west to northwesterlies in their wake.
Winds will gradually diminish overnight and Sunday as the system
moves away and a ridge of high pressure approaches from the
Maritimes.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Southwest Coast, East Coast -
north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk
Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except South Coast, East Coast Cape St. Francis
and south and the Grand Banks.
