Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM NST 27 February 2021 Tonight and Sunday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight ridge located over the northern Grand
Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday departing ridge located southeast of the
Grand Banks.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 1009 mb located west of
New Brunswick.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Sunday low 999 mb located south of the Avalon
Peninsula.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:57 PM NST 27 February 2021 A low pressure system west of New Brunswick will move to lie south of
the Avalon Peninsula Sunday evening. Strong to gale force
southwesterlies over western waters will ease this evening.
On Sunday, the low will cause strong to gale force southeasterlies to
spread across southern waters ahead of it before shifting to strong
to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast
Coast, and Funk Island Bank.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for the Strait of Belle Isle.
