Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NDT 10 March 2026 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NDT today deepening low 981 mb located northeast of
Belle Isle Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Wednesday low 975 mb located northeast of the
Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT Wednesday quasi-stationary low 975 mb located
over northern Labrador Sea.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT today ridge located over Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Wednesday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:44 AM NDT 10 March 2026 A deepening low pressure system over the South Labrador Coast will
move northeast of the district this evening. Gale to storm force
southwesterlies ahead of the low will veer to gale to storm force
northwesterlies in its wake. Winds will diminish over most waters
tonight.

Meanwhile, an intense low pressure system will approach from the
Northwest Labrador Sea tonight. This low will help maintain strong to
gale force northwesterlies over Belle Isle Bank throughout the
forecast period.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk
Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for Gulf waters and the East
Coast.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
