Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM NST 21 February 2018 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing ridge located northeast of
the Marine District.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today deepening low located near the Gaspe
Peninsula.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing low 975 mb located east of
Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:42 AM NST 21 February 2018 A low pressure system is forecast to develop near the Gaspé Peninsula
this afternoon and intensify as it crosses the northern marine
district. This system will spread gale to storm force west to
northwesterlies over all waters tonight as it passes.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Strait of Belle Isle.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
