Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM NDT 22 March 2019 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Labrador Sea.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Saturday departing trough located east of
Labrador Sea.

At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight low 979 mb located over the Gulf of Maine.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT Saturday low 987 mb located over the Gulf of
St. Lawrence.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:54 PM NDT 22 March 2019 A trough over the Labrador Sea will continue to move eastwards
tonight to lie east of the district Saturday morning. Strong to gale
force southwesterly winds ahead of the trough will diminish over
northern waters near midnight.

Meanwhile, a low pressure system will track northeastwards over the
Maritimes tonight. Strong to gale force easterly winds over southern
waters will spread across all waters ahead of the low tonight.
Over southeastern waters, strong to gale force southerlies will
persist on Saturday as the low begins to track northeastwards into
the Labrador Sea.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Strait of Belle Isle.
