Wind northeast 15 to 20 knots increasing to northeast 25 this afternoon and to northeast 35 to 45 this evening. Wind increasing to north 45 to 55 late overnight then diminishing to northwest 25 to 35 near noon Tuesday. Wind becoming northwest 25 Tuesday evening.

Rain or snow and fog banks becoming snow Tuesday morning. Visibility 1 mile or less in fog banks and in snow.

Temperatures plus 6 falling to zero this evening.

Issued 10:00 AM NST 8 March 2021 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough located over southern Labrador Sea.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday departing trough located east of Belle
Isle Bank.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 1005 mb located south of
Laurentian Fan.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Tuesday low 980 mb located east of the Grand
Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line east-west over
the Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Tuesday ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:05 AM NST 8 March 2021 A trough of low pressure over the South Labrador Sea will move
southeastward today then depart east of Belle Isle Bank tonight.
Strong to gale force northwesterlies are expected over northern
waters tonight in the wake of the trough.

A deepening low pressure system will track northeastward today to lie
east of the Grand Banks Tuesday morning. Strong to gale force
northeasterly winds will develop over southern waters tonight ahead
of the low then shift to gale to storm force northwesterlies in its
wake on Tuesday.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Southeastern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for Belle Isle
Bank, Northern Grand Banks, and Southwestern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Belle Isle Bank.
