Issued 3:30 PM NST 20 January 2026 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today deepening low 994 mb located over central
Labrador.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 972 mb located over southern
Labrador Sea.

At 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday approaching ridge located on a line
north-south over eastern Quebec.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:53 AM NST 20 January 2026 A low pressure system over the Lower North Shore of Quebec will
deepen as it tracks northeast to lie over the South Labrador Sea by
tonight. Gale to storm force westerlies will develop over northern
waters while strong to gale force southwesterlies to northwesterlies
will develop over the rest of the district through today and tonight.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northeast Coast, belle island bank, and Funk Island Bank.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
