Issued 10:00 AM NST 8 February 2023 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough located on a line northeast-southwestover the northern Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today departing trough located east of Funk
Island Bank.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 986 mb located south of the Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday low 977 mb located east of Funk Island
Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 10:02 AM NST 8 February 2023 A trough of low pressure over the Northern Grand Banks will move tolie east of Funk Island Bank this afternoon before moving away from
the marine district this evening. Gale force east to northeasterlies
north of the trough will give way to strong to gale force southerlies
as it passes.
A low pressure system south of the Grand Banks will pass southeast of
the Grand Banks today before moving to lie east of Funk Island Bank
by Thursday morning. Strong to gale force northwesterlies are
forecast over most waters as it passes by.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Gulf-Port au Port, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Grand
Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all areas with open water except the Grand Banks.
