Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:14 AM NST 19 December 2018 A low pressure system over the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland will
move to lie over Belle Isle Bank this evening then remain nearly
stationary. Strong to gale force northeast to northwesterlies will
develop over most waters today and persist on Thursday. However, over
the south and Mid Labrador Coast, storm force northwesterlies will
develop this evening and persist overnight.
Marine interests are advised that storm warning are in effect for the
south and Mid Labrador Coast. Gale warnings are in effect for
remaining waters except Lake Melville, North Labrador Coast - north
of Saglek and the Northwest Labrador Sea - northeastern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Mid Labrador Coast, North Labrador Coast, and Northwest
Atlantic - Newfoundland Area
