Wind light increasing to southeast 15 to 20 knots this afternoon then backing to east 25 this evening. Wind increasing to northeast 35 late overnight and to north 45 to 55 near noon Wednesday. Wind increasing to northwest 55 to 65 Wednesday evening.

Snow beginning near noon becoming rain or snow this evening then snow Wednesday afternoon. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water severe freezing spray over northwestern sections Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Temperatures minus 9 to minus 3 rising to zero this evening then falling to minus 8 to zero Wednesday afternoon.

Issued 9:30 AM NDT 1 April 2025 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 a.m. NDT today intensifying low 996 mb located near
Anticosti Island.
By 9:30 a.m. NDT Wednesday low 980 mb located over the South
Labrador Sea.

At 9:30 a.m. NDT today ridge located from Ungava Bay to Belle
Isle Bank.
By 4:00 p.m. NDT today dissipating ridge located over Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:51 AM NDT 1 April 2025 A low pressure system near Anticosti Island will intensify as
It tracks across the Quebec Lower North Shore to lie over Belle Isle
Bank on Wednesday morning. Strong to gale force east to
northeasterlies will develop ahead of the low this evening and
strengthen to storm to hurricane force north to northwesterlies as
the low intensifies over the South Labrador Sea on Wednesday.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South
Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Sea and Northwest Labrador Sea.
