Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 4:00 PM NST 14 November 2018 Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 p.m. NST today deepening low 960 mb located east of the
Great Northern Peninsula.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Thursday low 944 mb located east of Funk Island
At 4:00 p.m. NST today dissipating ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the East Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:44 PM NST 14 November 2018 A powerful low pressure system just east of the Great Northern
Peninsula will continue to intensify as it crosses the Funk Island
Bank tonight. Gale force northeasterlies over southern waters will
shift to gale to storm force northwesterlies over all waters tonight
in the wake of the low. Winds will gradually diminish to strong to
gale force northwesterlies late in the day on Thursday.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
the South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and the South Labrador
Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Lake Melville.
