Issued 9:30 AM NST 23 January 2026 Today Tonight and Saturday At 9:30 a.m. NST today low 980 mb located over the northern EastLabrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday departing low 986 mb located northwest
of the Northwest Labrador Sea.
At 9:30 a.m. NST today dissipating ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over central Labrador.
At 4:00 p.m. NST today deepening low 984 mb located southeast
of Greenland.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Saturday low 976 mb located over the eastern East
Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:20 AM NST 23 January 2026 A low pressure system over the East Labrador Sea will continuetracking westward to lie just northwest of the Northwest Labrador Sea
by this evening. Strong to gale force northwesterlies are expected to
persist over northern waters today as a result of the low.
A second low pressure system southeast of Greenland will approach the
district from the west on Saturday. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies are expected to develop west of the low over most
waters through the day on Saturday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Lake Melville and North Labrador Coast - Saglek and
south.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water except East Labrador Sea.
