Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:45 AM NST 17 January 2026 An intense low pressure system just north of Belle Isle Bank willcontinue northeastwards to lie east of the Labrador Sea later today.
Gale to storm force northwesterlies to southwesterlies will persist
over all waters with this system. Winds will gradually diminish
throughout the forecast period as the low drifts north of the
Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters except Lake Melville, where a gale warning is in effect.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open waters.
