District.
At 4:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday deepening low 990 mb located over western
Labrador.
By 9:30 p.m. NDT Tuesday low 979 mb located southeast of the East
Labrador Sea.
At 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight ridge located from Labrador Sea to
Newfoundland.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday departing ridge located east of the East
Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:20 PM NDT 9 March 2026 A low pressure system over Ungava Bay will track across the NorthwestLabrador Sea tonight to lie north of the district by Tuesday
afternoon. Strong southerlies ahead of the low will veer to strong to
gale force westerlies to northwesterlies in its wake.
A second area of low pressure will move over Western Labrador tonight
before crossing the southern marine district Tuesday afternoon.
Strong to gale force northwesterlies will develop in the low's wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
