Issued 4:00 PM NST 24 January 2026 Tonight and Sunday At 4:00 p.m. NST today low 972 mb located east of the EastLabrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Sunday low 983 mb located over the Northwest
Labrador Sea.
At 4:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located over southern Quebec.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over northern Quebec.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:48 PM NST 24 January 2026 A low pressure system east of the East Labrador Sea will movewestwards to lie over the Northwest Labrador Sea Sunday afternoon.
Strong to gale force northwesterlies this evening are expected to
strengthen to gale to storm force northwesterlies over northern
waters tonight and Sunday. East of the low, gale to storm force
easterlies to southeasterlies will develop tonight and persist into
Sunday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast - north of Saglek, Northwest Labrador Sea, and
East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Lake Melville.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water.
