Issued 9:30 AM NDT 11 October 2024 Today Tonight and Saturday At 9:30 a.m. NDT today intensifying low 981 mb located over theSouth Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Saturday dissipating low 975 mb located near
Lake Melville.
At 9:30 a.m. NDT today intensifying low 988 mb located east of
the Grand Banks.
By 9:30 a.m. NDT Saturday low 960 mb located over southeastern
Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:19 AM NDT 11 October 2024 A low pressure system over the South Labrador Sea will continue tointensify today as it tracks westward to lie over the Mid Labrador
Coast this evening. Gale to storm force northeasterlies are expected
today as the low intensifies.
Another low pressure system south of the Grand Banks will rapidly
intensify as it tracks northward to lie east of the Labrador Sea
overnight. Gale to storm force east to northeasterlies will continue
across most waters, except storm to hurricane force winds over the
southern half of the East Labrador Sea, as the low tracks west across
the Labrador Sea on Saturday.
Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for East Labrador Sea - southern half. Storm warnings are
in effect for Mid Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea, and Northwest
Labrador Sea - southern half. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Lake Melville, South Labrador Coast, and
North Labrador Coast - north of Saglek.
