By 3:00 a.m. NST Monday departing trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Funk Island Bank.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight ridge located from Labrador Sea to
Sable Island.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Monday ridge located east of the Grand Banks.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight trough located over Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Monday dissipating trough located over southeastern
Labrador.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:50 PM NST 8 December 2019 A trough of low pressure over the Belle Isle Bank will continuesoutheastward across the Funk Island Bank this evening. Strong to
gale force northwesterlies will diminish over northern waters tonight
as the trough departs and a ridge replaces it from the west.
A second trough of low pressure over Quebec will approach the
district overnight tonight before dissipating over Southeastern
Labrador Monday afternoon. Strong to gale force southwesterlies are
expected over most waters between the ridge and the approaching
trough.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle - western half, Gulf waters, Southwest Coast,
South Coast and Belle Isle Bank.
