Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:18 PM NST 9 December 2018 A trough of low pressure over Great Northern Peninsula will continue
to drift southeastward today and dissipate over the Funk Island Bank
tonight. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will spread from
northwestern waters to southern waters behind this feature.
A deep low pressure system east of Funk Island Bank will continue to
deepen as it stalls east of the marine district tonight. Strong to
gale force northwesterlies will continue over eastern waters tonight
and Monday in the wake of this system.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Gulf - Port au Port, Northeast Coast and Belle Isle
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for East Coast and Northeast Coast.
