Marine Weather StatementIssued 10:01 AM NST 19 February 2018 An intense low pressure system southeast of the Grand Banks will move
to lie east of the marine district by Tuesday. Gale to storm force
northerlies will diminish over the Grand Banks tonight as the low
moves away and a ridge builds in.
A trough of low pressure will approach Gulf waters late today. Strong
to gale force southwesterlies ahead of this system will veer to
strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Southern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for Northeast
Gulf, Gulf-Port au Port, Belle Isle Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast
