Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:50 PM AST 12 December 2018 An intense low pressure system over the Southern Grand Banks will
continue to move northeastward away from the district tonight. Strong
to gale force northerly winds in its wake will begin to diminish
overnight. The cold air in the wake of the low will give freezing
spray to parts of the north and western marine district.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau-southeastern half, Laurentian Fan-western half, Cabot
Strait, Northumberland Strait-eastern half and Gulf-Magdalen.
In addition, freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand
Manan, Lurcher, southwestern shore, eastern shore, Fourchu, Cabot
Strait, Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and
Atlantic - Newfoundland Area
