Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:51 AM AST 21 February 2019 Strong to gale force northwesterlies over northern and eastern waters
will diminish this morning as a ridge of high pressure builds in
quickly from the west. Meanwhile a low pressure system just west of
Georges Bank this morning will track eastward today to lie southeast
of Laurentian Fan later tonight. Strong to gale force westerlies are
expected behind this low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, East Scotian Slope, Banquereau,
Laurentian Fan, and Cabot Strait.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, eastern shore - eastern half, Sable -
eastern half, Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf
Magdalen - northeastern half, and Anticosti.
