Issued 8:00 PM AST 20 January 2021 Tonight and Thursday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing low 978 mb located off LabradorCoast.
At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight deepening low 990 mb located south of
West Scotian Slope.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Thursday low 968 mb located over the Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:42 PM AST 20 January 2021 Strong northwesterlies across northern waters tonight will diminishthroughout the period as a low off the coast of Labrador tracks away
from the region. These strong winds will combine with colder air over
the Gulf of St. Lawrence to cause freezing spray tonight.
Another low pressure system south of West Scotian Slope will continue
deepen and cross just south of the marine district tonight and into
Thursday. Gale to storm force northerlies will develop over
southernmost waters tonight as the low passes.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Laurentian Fan - southeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, East Scotian Slope, Banquereau -
eastern half, and Laurentian Fan - northwestern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen - northeastern half, and
Anticosti.
