Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:01 AM AST 20 January 2018 A low pressure system currently over Western Quebec will move
eastward this morning to lie near Anticosti Island this afternoon.
Strong to gale force south to southwesterly winds are forecast over
much of the district ahead of this system. In its wake, strong to
gale force northwesterlies are expected. Winds will become light late
in the day over western waters.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern
shore, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East
Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait,
Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti - western half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait-eastern half,
Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti.
