Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM NST 26 February 2020 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary trough located over the
coast of Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today building ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over western Labrador.

By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday approaching low 990 mb located near
New England.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:45 AM NST 26 February 2020 A trough of low pressure will remain near stationary along the coast
of Greenland while a ridge of high pressure builds down over
Newfoundland from Labrador. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will
develop over northern waters tonight and persist into Thursday
between these two features.

Meanwhile, an intensifying low pressure system will approach the
marine district on Friday. Strong to gale force easterlies will
develop over gulf and southern waters Thursday evening ahead of this
system.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Gulf - Port au Port, Southwest Coast, South Coast, Belle Isle Bank
and Southwestern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect all waters except Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf and the
Grand Banks.
