Wind northwest 55 to 65 knots with gusts to 75 except southwest 40 to 50 over eastern sections early this morning. Wind diminishing to west 35 to 45 this morning then becoming west 35 overnight. Wind diminishing to west 25 Saturday afternoon then backing to southwest 15 to 20 Saturday evening.

Rain and fog patches changing to showers this morning and ending Saturday afternoon.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM NST 7 November 2025 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 962 mb located over
southeastern Funk Island Bank.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 957 mb located northeast
of Funk Island Bank.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Saturday ridge located over the northern Grand
Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NST Saturday approaching low 999 mb located over the
Gaspe Peninsula.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:52 AM NST 7 November 2025 An intense low pressure system over Southeastern Funk Island Bank
will track northeastward and stall northeast of then district this
afternoon then meander around that vicinity through Saturday. Gale to
hurricane force westerlies to northwesterlies behind the low will
gradually diminish as the low pulls away and eventually starts to
weaken.

Large waves and pounding surf will produce higher than normal water
levels along coastal areas of South Coast, East Coast, and Northeast
Coast today, especially near high tide this morning.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Northern Grand Banks and Southeastern Grand Banks.
Storm warnings are in effect for East Coast - Cape St. Francis and
south, Funk Island Bank, and Southwestern Grand Banks. Gale warnings
are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that a high water level warning is
in effect for South Coast.
