Wind southeast 25 knots increasing to southeast 35 this morning and to west 40 to 50 near noon. Wind increasing to west 50 to 60 this evening except west 60 to 70 over northern sections overnight and Saturday morning. Wind diminishing to west 35 to 45 Saturday evening.

Rain and fog patches beginning early this morning changing to flurries this afternoon. Visibility 1 mile or less in fog patches and in flurries.

Temperatures plus 4 falling to minus 2 this evening.

Issued 3:00 AM NST 5 December 2025 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 986 mb located over the Quebec
Lower North Shore.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday low 956 mb located east of Funk Island
Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today departing ridge located east of the Grand
Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching ridge located on a line
north-south over the Maritimes.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:54 AM NST 5 December 2025 A low pressure system over the Lower North Shore of Quebec will track
over Northeastern Newfoundland this morning and meander over Funk
Island Bank this afternoon and evening. Strong to gale force
southeasterly to northeasterly winds will spread over eastern and
northern waters ahead of the low while gale to storm force west to
northwesterlies will spread over most waters in its wake. Winds will
further intensify to storm to hurricane force west to northwesterlies
tonight as the low deepens, before slowly diminishing on Saturday as
the low moves east of the marine district.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks.
Storm warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Strait
of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, and Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are
in effect for Strait of Belle Isle -eastern half, Northeast Gulf, and
Belle Isle Bank.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - western half, Gulf waters,
Southwest Coast, East Coast, and Northeast Coast.
