Issued 3:30 PM NST 19 February 2019 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 976 mb located northeastof Belle Isle Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today intensifying low 958 mb located east of
the Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 938 mb located south of Greenland.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday trough located over northeastern Belle
Isle Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Wednesday trough located over southeastern Funk
Island Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:32 PM NST 19 February 2019 A low pressure system northeast of belle bank will remain nearlystationary tonight. Meanwhile, an intense low pressure system
located east of the Grand Banks will continue to deepen as it moves
out to sea. These systems will merge into a very intense storm well
east of the district on Wednesday. Gale force northwesterly winds
will gradually spread across most waters tonight behind these
systems. On Wednesday, a trough extending from the northern low will
swing southeastward along the northeastern edge of the district
spreading storm force northwesterlies to northern and eastern waters.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Northeast
Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Strait of Belle Isle and Northeast Coast
which are mainly ice covered.
