Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NST 21 February 2018 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located northeast of Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing ridge located northeast of
the Marine District.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today deepening low 1007 mb located near the
Gaspe Peninsula.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday deepening low 975 mb located east of
Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:26 PM NST 21 February 2018 A low pressure system near the Gaspé Peninsula will intensify this
evening as it crosses the northern marine district. This system will
spread gale to storm force west to northwesterlies over all waters
tonight as it passes.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
