Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:21 PM NDT 15 June 2021 At 3:30 P.M. NDT, tropical storm Bill was located near latitude 41.8
north and longitude 58.9 west, about 270 nautical miles south of
Sydney. Maximum sustained winds were estimated at 50 knots and
central pressure at 1000 MB. Tropical storm Bill was moving northeast
at 33 knots.
Tropical storm Bill is expected to transition into a post-tropical
storm late today before weakening as it passes near the Avalon
Wednesday morning. Winds over the southern marine district will
increase to strong to gale force southeasterlies ahead of the
tropical storm, and shift to strong to gale force southwesterlies in
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
South Coast, East Coast, and Southwestern Grand Banks.
