Issued 3:00 AM NDT 16 March 2026 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. NDT today low 993 mb located east of the MarineDistrict.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT today departing low 993 mb located east of the
Marine District.
At 3:00 a.m. NDT today trough located over southern Labrador Sea.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT today departing trough located southeast of Belle
Isle Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today approaching trough located over the
Maritimes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:49 AM NDT 16 March 2026 A low pressure system east of the marine district will depart theregion later today. Strong to gale force northwesterlies in the wake
of the low will diminish as it moves away.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure over the South Labrador Sea will
move southeastward and cross Belle Isle Bank today. This feature will
help maintain strong to gale force northwesterlies over northern
waters.
A second trough will move over the Maritimes today and cross
Newfoundland overnight. Strong to gale force southeasterlies ahead of
the trough will shift southwesterly behind it.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Northeast Gulf, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis,
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
