Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:48 AM NST 25 February 2018 A low pressure system southeast of the Grand Banks will continue to
slowly move southeastward and intensify today. Meanwhile, a trough of
low pressure over the Funk Island Bank will track southeastwards and
merge with the low this afternoon.
Strong to gale force north to northwesterlies will continue over
eastern waters in the wake of both systems, diminishing throughout
the day as a ridge builds in from the west.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
East Coast, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southeastern Grand Banks.
