Issued 8:00 PM NDT 11 March 2025 Tonight and Wednesday At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight quasi-stationary trough located northeastof the Marine District.
At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight trough located over the Gaspe Peninsula.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT Wednesday low 993 mb located over southern
Labrador Coast.
At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight ridge located on a line north-south over
the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT Wednesday departing ridge located east of the
Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:50 PM NDT 11 March 2025 A trough of low pressure northeast of the marine district will remainnearly stationary tonight before weakening on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a
ridge of high pressure over the Gulf of St. Lawrence will continue to
track east across the marine district. Gale force northwesterlies
over Belle Isle Bank between these two features will diminish on
Wednesday as the trough weakens.
A second trough over the Gaspé Peninsula this evening will strengthen
into a low and cross Southeastern Labrador on Wednesday. Strong to
gale force southerlies to westerlies will develop over Gulf waters on
Wednesday to the south of the low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle - western half, Gulf waters, and Belle Isle
Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk
Island Bank.
