Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:39 AM NST 22 November 2017 A low pressure system just east of the Funk Island Bank will weaken
as it drifts southward today. Gale to storm force northwesterlies
over eastern waters will gradually diminish today as the low weakens.
An intense low pressure system will then approach from the southwest
tonight and track northeastward over the gulf Thursday. Gale force
southeasterlies will develop ahead of the low Thursday morning.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that there is potential for high
waves and pounding surf along the Southwest Coast Thursday afternoon
which may result in minor coastal flooding. Please monitor future
forecasts for updated information.
