Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM AST 8 December 2022 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight trough located on a line north-south over
the central Marine District.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Friday trough located on a line northwest-southeast
over West Scotian Slope.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight quasi-stationary ridge located over the
Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:37 AM AST 9 December 2022 A trough of low pressure over the central marine district will begin
to rotate southwestward today to lie over West Scotian Slope this
evening and south of the district tonight. Strong to gale force
southeasterlies ahead of the trough will become strong to gale force
northerlies in its wake. Gale to storm force northerlies will develop
over much of the central and southern waters today as the trough
rotates southwestward.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope and East Scotian Slope.
Gale warnings are in effect for Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank,
southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, Sable, Northumberland Strait,
Gulf-Magdalen, and Chaleur-Miscou - eastern half.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Gulf-Magdalen,
Chaleur-Miscou - eastern half, and Anticosti.
