Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. AST today low 1004 mb located near Cape Cod.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 990 mb located near Cape Breton Island.

At 10:00 a.m. AST Monday departing low 989 mb located northeast
of Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:43 AM AST 19 January 2020 A low pressure system near Cape Cod will intensify as it tracks
eastward today. The disturbance will reach Cape Breton this evening
and Newfoundland tonight. Strong to gale force southerly winds are
forecast ahead of the low while strong to gale force easterlies are
expected north of it. There is a possibility that southerly winds
could reach near storm force over Laurentian Fan this evening.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Browns Bank, Georges Bank, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, eastern
shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian
Fan, and Cabot Strait.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Cabot Strait,
Northumberland Strait, Gulf Magdalen, and Anticosti.
