Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM AST 12 December 2018 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. AST today intensifying low 960 mb located east of
Laurentian Fan.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Thursday low 950 mb located east of the Grand
Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Thursday ridge located on a line north-south over
New England.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the Gulf of Maine.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:25 PM AST 12 December 2018 An intense low pressure system east of Laurentian Fan will track
northeastward away from the district tonight. Gale force north to
northeasterly winds over the southeastern marine district will
diminish this evening in the wake of the disturbance. Cold gale force
northerly winds over Gulf waters will spread southward giving
freezing spray to parts of the north and western marine district.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau-southeastern half, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait,
Northumberland Strait-eastern half and Gulf-Magdalen.

In addition, freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand
Manan, Lurcher, southwestern shore, eastern shore, Fourchu, Cabot
Strait, Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti.
