Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 20 March 2018 Tonight and Wednesday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight ridge located west of the Marine District.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Wednesday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. ADT Wednesday warm front from low located southwest
of the Marine District.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT Wednesday warm front from low located on a line
east-west over the southern Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:54 PM ADT 20 March 2018 A warm front will approach the Maritimes from the southwest on
Wednesday. Strong to gale force northeasterly winds north of the
trough will spread to most of the district by Thursday morning and
switch to strong to gale force southwesterly winds in its wake.

Environment and climate change Canada meteorologists are monitoring
the development of this feature as it forms southwest of the marine
district. Current information is suggesting that the track of this
warm front along the slope waters may shift southeastward Wednesday
evening which would maintain gale force northeasterlies over the
slope waters longer than is currently expected. Given that there
remains some uncertainty in the development of this feature, marine
interests are advised to monitor subsequent forecasts particularly
from Georges Bank to Laurentian Fan.

Marine interests are also advised that gale warnings are in effect
for all marine waters except for Cabot Strait and the Gulf of St.
Lawrence waters.
