Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM ADT 15 October 2018 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. ADT today departing trough located east of the
Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today intensifying low 1010 mb located near the
Great Lakes.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Tuesday intensifying low 980 mb located over
Anticosti Island.

At 3:00 a.m. ADT today ridge located southwest of the Marine
By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight ridge located east of the Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:57 AM ADT 15 October 2018 A trough of low pressure east of Newfoundland will continue to move
away from the marine district, giving weakening westerly winds as a
ridge moves in from the west.

An intensifying low pressure system will approach the Maritimes from
the Great Lakes on Monday night and by Tuesday should be over the
Northern Gulf of St. Lawrence. Gale to storm force southerly winds
will develop ahead of this system. South and west of the low winds
will be generally gale force but will reach storm force over parts of
the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the eastern marine district.

Marine interests are advised that storm force wind warnings are in
effect for eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half,
Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf - Magdalen,
and Anticosti - southern half. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters.
