At 9:30 a.m. NST today trough located over northern Quebec.
By 9:30 a.m. NDT Sunday low 975 mb located over the Northwest
Labrador Sea.
At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NDT Sunday departing ridge located east of the East
Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:20 AM NST 7 March 2026 Strong to gale force northwesterlies over the East Labrador Sea willdiminish today as a trough of low pressure southeast of the marine
district departs.
Subsequently, a trough of low pressure approaching from Northern
Quebec will move to lie over the Northwest Labrador Sea tonight,
where it will develop into a deepening low which will drift slowly
eastward on Sunday. Strong to gale force southwesterlies will develop
ahead of the trough, and then back to strong to gale force
northwesterlies behind the low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
North Labrador Coast - north of Saglek, and the Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water.
