Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:36 AM AST 19 January 2018 A low pressure system currently south of East Scotian Slope will move
eastward to lie south of the Grand Banks by this evening. Strong to
gale force northeasterly winds over the southern district will
diminish west to east this afternoon.
Another low pressure system from Central Quebec will track
southeastward Saturday to lie near Anticosti Island by Saturday
afternoon. Strong to gale force southwesterly winds are forecast over
the southern district beginning Saturday morning and will persist
until Sunday morning.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern
shore, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope,eastern shore, Sable, East
Scotian Slope and Banquereau.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Northumberland Strait-eastern half, Gulf-Magdalen and
Atlantic - Newfoundland Area
