By 9:30 a.m. NST Wednesday low 998 mb located over Ungava Bay.
At 9:30 a.m. NST today deepening low 999 mb located over the Quebec
Lower North Shore.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Wednesday low 976 mb located over the South
Labrador Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:25 AM NST 20 January 2026 A low pressure system over the North Labrador Coast will drift westand lie over Ungava Bay overnight tonight. Strong to gale force
northeasterlies are forecast to develop over northern waters ahead of
the low today.
Meanwhile, a second low pressure system over the Lower North Shore of
Quebec will continue to deepen as it tracks northeast before lying
over the South Labrador Sea by tonight. Strong to gale force
northeasterlies will develop ahead of this low with gale to storm
force westerlies to northwesterlies developing in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast and South Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water.
