Issued 9:30 PM NST 19 January 2021 Tonight and Wednesday At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight trough located on a linenorthwest-southeast over the Northwest Labrador Sea.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Wednesday trough located on a line north-south
over the North Labrador Coast.
At 9:30 p.m. NST tonight low 972 mb located over the northern
Grand Banks.
By 9:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 975 mb located over the South
Labrador Coast.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:39 AM NST 20 January 2021 A trough of low pressure over the Northwest Labrador Sea will moveslowly westwards today and depart the district tonight. Meanwhile,
another trough will approach the district from the southeast tonight
to lie over the Northwest Labrador Sea Thursday afternoon. Strong to
gale force northwesterlies ahead of the first trough will shift to
gale to storm force easterlies in its wake as the second trough
approaches. Winds will shift to strong southerlies to the south of
the second trough on Thursday.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Lake Melville.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, South Labrador
Sea, and Northwest Labrador Sea - southwestern half.
