northwest-southeast over central Labrador Sea.
At 4:00 p.m. NST today low 979 mb located over the eastern Gulf
of St. Lawrence.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Friday low 982 mb located over southeastern
Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:47 PM NST 23 November 2017 A trough of low pressure over the Central Labrador Sea will remain
nearly stationary and gradually weaken over the forecast period.
Gale force southeasterlies over easternmost waters will persist under
the influence of the trough.
An intensifying low pressure system off the west coast of
Newfoundland will pass just south of the marine district tonight,
then track northwestwards to lie over the Northwest Labrador Sea by
Friday evening. Gale force southeasterlies over eastern waters will
spread westward ahead of this system. Strong to gale force west to
northwesterlies will develop over western waters on Friday as the low
crosses the Labrador Sea.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Lake Melville.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Lake Melville and the Labrador coast.
