of the Marine District.
At 9:30 a.m. NST today low 978 mb located over the South Labrador
Sea.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Thursday low 975 mb located south of Greenland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:28 AM NST 21 January 2026 A low pressure system over the South Labrador Sea will remain nearlystationary today before slowly tracking eastwards tonight and
Thursday. Meanwhile, a trough extending northwestward from the low to
Ungava Bay will slowly drift southward throughout the forecast
period. Strong to gale force northeasterlies will persist north of
the trough while gale to storm force southwest to northwesterlies are
expected to its south.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Labrador Coast, Mid Labrador Coast, and South Labrador Sea.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all regions with open water except East Labrador Sea.
