Issued 3:00 AM NDT 12 April 2026 Today Tonight and Monday At 3:00 a.m. NDT today deepening low 1003 mb located near the Port
au Port Peninsula.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT today merging low 989 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT today deepening low 996 mb located over the
southeastern Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT today merging low 989 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT Monday ridge located on a line north-south over
the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT Monday ridge located on a line north-south over
eastern Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:56 AM NDT 12 April 2026 A deepening low pressure system near the Port au Port Peninsula will
track eastward across Newfoundland today. Meanwhile, a second
deepening low pressure system over the Southeastern Grand Banks will
track northeastward. By this afternoon, both systems are expected to
merge into an intense low pressure system that will remain nearly
stationary just east of Funk Island Bank throughout the forecast
period.

Strong to gale force northeasterlies to southwesterlies with the
first low will spread across remaining waters this afternoon as the
two lows merge. Winds will diminish gradually from west to east on
Monday as the low begins to track east of the district and a ridge
moves in from the west.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.
