By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday departing low 977 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday approaching low 1001 mb located over
eastern Quebec.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:59 AM NST 19 January 2026 A low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will deepen as it tracksnortheastward to lie east of Funk Island Bank overnight tonight.
Gale to storm force easterlies to northeasterlies will develop today
to the north of its track, while gale to storm force westerlies to
southwesterlies will develop to its south. Winds will shift to strong
to gale force westerlies to northwesterlies tonight in its wake.
A second low will approach from the west on Tuesday. Strong to gale
force southwesterlies will develop on Tuesday ahead of the low.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Coast, East Coast, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
