By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday low 979 mb located over the East Coast
of Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:40 AM NST 6 January 2025 A weakening low pressure system will remain nearly stationary overEastern Newfoundland throughout today and will continue to weaken
throughout the forecast period. Gale to storm force easterlies to
northerlies will persist north of the low. Gale to storm force
northwesterlies to southwesterlies will persist south of the low.
Winds will begin to diminish today and tonight as the low weakens.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, Belle Isle Bank and Southwestern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that all high water level warnings
have ended.
