Issued 10:00 AM NDT 15 March 2026 Today Tonight and Monday At 10:00 a.m. NDT today low 989 mb located over Funk Island Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Monday low 988 mb located east of the Marine
District.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT Monday trough located on a line east-west over
southern Labrador Sea.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Monday trough located southeast of Belle Isle Bank.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT Monday approaching trough located over the
Maritimes.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:02 AM NDT 15 March 2026 A deepening low pressure system over Southern Newfoundland will
continue tracking northeast through today, lying east of the district
overnight tonight. Strong to gale force northeast to easterly winds
are expected north of this low while strong to gale force
southwesterlies are expected south of it. Winds will shift to gale to
storm force northwesterlies in the wake of the low late today.

Meanwhile, a trough over the Labrador Sea will slide southeast on
Monday, crossing through Belle Isle Bank. This feature will help
maintain strong to gale force northwesterlies over eastern waters on
Monday.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle and
Northeast Gulf.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis,
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
