Issued 3:30 PM NST 21 February 2024 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 965 mb located southeast of Greenland.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday departing low located east of Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday trough located south of Nova Scotia.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday trough located south of the Grand Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday ridge located over Funk Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:21 PM NST 21 February 2024 An intense low pressure system southeast of Greenland will slowly
track eastward tonight and Thursday. Strong to gale force westerlies
over most waters behind the low will diminish tonight as the low
moves away and a ridge of high pressure approaches.

Meanwhile a trough of low pressure is expected to approach from the
southwest and cross southern waters late on Thursday. Strong to gale
force southerlies are expected south of the trough Thursday evening.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank and the Southwestern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, East Coast - north
of Cape St Francis, Northeast Coast, Funk Island Bank and the
Northern Grand Banks.
